F.A.C.E started on 29/03/2015 as Team Tony Barton in memory of our good friend Tony who passed away from Cancer after losing his second battle with the illness. A fundraiser was launched which attracted 200 people and raised money to help support Tony’s family.
In the coming weeks Tony Clark and Joe Blogo approached Paul Bleasdale and Lee butler to organise more events; the next event in Albert Dock called Circo attracted 500 guests and continued under the guise of team Tony Barton.
The popularity of the event lead to bigger venue bookings including Constellations which attracted upwards of 1,000 guests. The group rebranded the event to F.A.C.E (an acronym for Friends Against Cancer Events) for the inclusion of all people affected by Cancer.
To date F.A.C.E have raised over £120,000 for The Bloom Appeal to help in their pursuit of research related to Cancer and Cancerous Blood Cells.
